Have you seen a popup for a "live operator" when you try to leave a website after viewing a product? That's a little pesky program! It attempts to entice you with a discount on the product that you just got through reading the sales page for. It's irritating, because it's hard to get out of the webpage or shutdown the program. Unless, you shutdown your computer. It irritated me so much, that I had to figure out a way to solve this problem. Read on, if you want to know how.
Here's how you can shutdown that program without shutting down your computer. Right click on your taskbar and select "task manager". Next, click the "applications" tab and you will see that program labeled "live operator.exe" or something similar. Put your mouse pointer on that program. Click the left mouse button and will highlight the application "live operator.exe" Then, move down to the button labeled "end task", and click on it. That will shut that program down, and you can continue what you were doing before you were interrupted.
If you click the "performance" tab, you will get an actual sinewave representation of what your computer is doing. You don't have to pay attention to it, because there is a little bar graph on the left labeled "CPU usage" which you can look at. One way this is helpful, is you can check the CPU usage, and see how high it is. The higher the CPU usage number, the harder your computer is having to work. Just think of the CPU as the "brain" of your computer. The higher that CPU usage number is, the slower your computer will run. You will notice that when you try to direct your web browser to another site, it will take a while before anything happens. Basically, the things that normally happen fast will slow way down, and you may never be able to go to the new website that you put in your web browser. Your computer may lock up, and do nothing at all. Your system is probably being tracked by spyware or some other nuisance program. Even the cookies that you receive when visiting websites, can slow down your computer. Anything that is trying to track you while your online will slow down your computer. And, even if you close the window, it doesn't clear up the problem.
Luckily you can take care of this problem with the Windows Task Manager also. Just click the "processes" tab which is inbetween the "applications" and "performance" tab, and you will see all the programs that are running on your computer. You will notice that some of the numbers are changing rapidly under the CPU column, and they are close to 80% or 90% or higher. When we closed the "live opeator.exe application while ago, that still didn't fix our problem.
Here's the next step we can take which should fix this problem. Look in the column for the name "iexplore.exe" which is your web browser (Internet Explorer). Put your mouse pointer on that word and select it by clicking your left mouse button. Then go down below, and click on the tab that says "end task". That will break the connection between you and whatever was slowing down your computer. Your problem should be fixed. If you go back and click on the "performance" tab, you can take a look at the "CPU usage" bar display. Notice how that number has decreased. Remember, the lower that number, then the faster your computer will run.
Still, there is another thing that can slow your computer down. There has to be enough memory available for the computer to keep it from slowing way down. Click on the "performance" tab. You will see four areas. Look at the area that is labelled "physical memory".Take the number labelled "total" and subtract 70%. Take a look at the number labelled "available", and if it is lower than the number you just got, then there is not enough memory. For example, on my computer "total" = 522800 - 365960 (70%) = 156840. If the "available" number drops below 156840, then your computer will run slower. The only way to fix this problem is to close some programs or install some more memory in your computer.
Windows Task Manager can help alot when trying to fix a slow computer. Anybody can do this. It's easy to go through the steps, and get your computer fast again. But, first you have to know about Windows Task Manager and how to use it. The next time you have a problem, I hope you can refer to this article to help you.

How To Compare 529 Plans?
If you are investing in a 529 state plan, it is easy to compare. The reason is that American citizens are allowed to take any state plan, and then they can even switch between plans if they want to. That is the reason everyone wants to compare 529 plans before they actually open an account. So how do you make the comparison? What do you look for?
Well, it is not quite straightforward to compare 529 plans of different states. There are too many things to take care of. However, here are some guidelines that might help you to make the comparison.
1. Look into the tax breaks the plans are offering. In fact, if your own state plan is giving you a tax break, then it is not necessary to look into the plans of other states. Any limitations that exist in your own plan will be overcome by the tax deductions your plans offer. Currently, 31 out of the 50 states in America provide tax deductions on their 529 plans, along with the District of Columbia. These 31 states are: Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia and Wisconsin.
2. Look for the expenses of the plans. The expenses you will have to bear when taking a plan will be the enrollment fees, annual maintenance fees and the program management fees. This is a good parameter to compare 529 plans. Some plans, like that of the state of Wyoming have very high expenses. Even the plans of the stats of Alabama, Arizona, Maine and Tennessee are very expensive and hence not at all good choices.
3. See what kind of investment options the plans will offer you. Most plans will give you at least three investment options, conservative and aggressive. Some of the plans, like that of the state of Virginia, provide as many as 21 American funds, giving a very good choice for investors.
4. There are two kinds of 529 plans - those that can be opened directly and those which require a broker to open. The broker, or the state adviser, will help in opening the plan and also give tips and pointers on making investments. But it must be understood that broker plans are more expensive than the plans that can be opened directly.

What Is “The Secret” To Finding Real Wealth?
Did you know that less than one percent of the people currently living on this planet account for almost twenty-five percent of ALL the wealth? These powerful people certainly don’t want you to know this...they want you to stay as mindless drones whose sole objective is to keep THEM wealthy. What is the secret this small fraction of the population knows that the rest do not?
If you haven't seen the movie "The Secret", I implore you to watch it! The Secret is the most powerful law in the universe! If you have already seen it, watch it again. To watch "The Secret" online, copy and paste this url into your browser; http://www.thesecret.tv/home.html
Or you can watch "The Secret" On Demand via cable and satellite for audiences in the United States and Canada.
This small minority of people who are currently pulling the strings on world politics and world economics have mastered The Secret. These are the same people who want The Secret banned like it was once banned hundreds of years ago. Now The Secret has been un-earthed for all to discover its tremendous power once again!
There also have been great leaders who have mastered The Secret and made positive contributions to all of humanity. Leaders like Albert Einstein, Abe Lincoln, and Mother Teresa to name a few.
We are now living in an exciting new age of technology where humanity can do incredible things. The brick and mortar corporations who once ruled our economy unequivocally over the little guy are slowly losing their death grip due to the astonishing power of the internet!
So what is this secret you ask? In a sentence; "The Secret Is The Law Of Attraction". Simply stated, you get what you wish for...or your thoughts dictate what you get in life. Your health is dictated by your thoughts as well as your wealth.
Think of your thoughts as little tiny magnets...the intensity of these tiny magnets or thoughts are in direct proportion to the emotions you attach to it. The stronger the magnet, the stronger the attraction. This explains why a lot of people don't get what they wish for. They have not attached a strong enough emotion to their dream. Or they feel they don’t deserve their dream so they don’t bother pursuing it.
Let me give you an example of how the law of attraction works in a negative way. Think of the days when you got started off the wrong foot, then said to yourself "this is gonna be a long and terrible day". What happened? A long and terrible day...you got what you wished for! The degree of how terrible your day turned out was proportional to the intensity of the negative emotion you attached to the thought, right?
So how do these little "magnets" or thoughts attract what we want or don't want in our lives you ask? Well, and this is based on quantum physics that scientists have just learned in the last 10 or 15 years. There is an invisible universal mind if you will that contains all the dreams and thoughts of everyone who has ever lived or will live...past...present...future. This is quite the paradox you may think, how can this be?
The "time" element in this universal mind has been negated or altered. Quantum physics has recently shown us that a single electron can occupy two different spaces in an electro-magnetic field at the same exact point in time, once thought impossible. This goes against the laws of physics unless time has been negated or altered some how, the only possible explanation. So you may be able to connect with the dreams of someone who hasn't been born yet. Are you getting excited yet?
The Universal Mind is a sort of collective consciousness. The place where dreams are born. These dreams are invisible and waiting to take physical form.
How do you convert your dreams from the universal mind to the physical realm? By constantly thinking about your dreams with strong emotions and just as importantly - taking action! I am NOT talking about wishful thinking here...you must take action on your dreams!
It helps to have pictures of your dreams and look at them every day. Write your dreams down. Formulate a plan that is specific and with deadlines that will bring your dreams to fruition...and stay the course! “Don’t die with your dreams still inside you” as Dr. Wayne Dyer likes to say.
That is why I firmly believe you should pursue ventures you have a passion for...then you will find it easier to attach strong positive emotions to your thoughts and dreams.
This is the most powerful law in the universe, use it wisely my liege...

Miniature Painting - Art Through the Ages
Early Beginnings
Miniature painting is a traditional style of art that is very detailed, often referred to as painting or working “in miniature”. Because of their origins as illuminations, they are also painted to have as smooth of a surface as possible. (It is also suggested that miniature art may have been influenced by the medals of ancient Rome as well) Miniature art can be traced back to ancient Egyptian manuscripts on papyrus scrolls. Monks are also often highlighted for their contributions to early miniature painting with their beautifully illuminated manuscripts such as the Celtic Book of Kells and England's Lindisfarne Gospels (both of which measure around 9" x 12"). Some early manuscripts contain miniature paintings on their pages that depict beautiful arrangements of life sized flower arrangements on their borders. The history of miniature painting is also seen throughout the world in various other cultures.
Miniature painting began out of necessity for illustrating documents and manuscripts to aid those reading them during a time when many were not able to, before printing was invented. The miniature helped to convey the story and meaning of the written word. Therefore, the art of miniature painting is directly connected to the book arts. The various sized illuminations (pictures) were cut out of these books or documents so that they could be carried more easily. Later, developing from the carried miniature, portrait miniature artists were commissioned to paint small portraits – paintings that were used as we use wallet sized photographs today. These sizes of miniature paintings became popular with collectors and are often referred to as “hand held miniatures”. Portrait miniatures were painted in larger sizes as well, for example master miniaturist, Nicholas Hilliard, Peter Oliver, and Sir Charles William Ross all painted works that were of a larger size.
Sizes
Miniature painting is sometimes confused and assumed that the pieces must be small or depict subjects on a smaller scale to be considered miniature art, though this is not the case. It is helpful to keep in mind that the origins of the term "miniature" have nothing to do with a size. The word miniature comes from the terms 'minium' (used for the red lead paint used in illuminated manuscripts) and 'miniare' (Latin for 'to color with red lead').
Miniature painting is a style and technique of painting, and as such, a wall sized work could be painted “in miniature”. Authors of the Yale University Press publication, “The English Miniature” have stated that miniatures have been painted large and some works are even considered to be gigantic. Numerous faculty members of the Victoria & Albert Museum in London confirm that miniature paintings are not restricted to smallness. Larger sized miniature paintings are documented throughout history and are recognized today, though painting larger works in miniature is more difficult and time consuming than a smaller piece if the same attention to detail is observed. Miniature art is also unique in that it was and is often used on objects, such as the Russian lacquer boxes that are beautiful examples of Russian miniature painting.
Exhibitions
Today, there are miniature art societies in western society to help promote and preserve traditional miniature art and the “spirit of miniature”. Their exhibitions feature the hand held miniature paintings (or sculptures) and each exhibition has its own unique guidelines and rules for artists showing in their exhibit. Some of these rules limit the size of work to be no larger than a set square inch. Others limit the size of a subject, such at the 1/6th scale rule that a subject may not be painted larger than 1/6th of it's natural size, or the 2” rule, that an object in the painting may not exceed 2”. Scale rules were initially put in place as a guide for artists starting out in miniature art. There are also many framing restrictions for society miniature works as well. All of these rules are put into place by each show for their own individual and unique exhibitions, and do not define what miniature art is.
Artists painting miniatures throughout history were not restricted in their artwork by scale as their subjects were painted to any measurement or scale that the artist deemed pleasing to the eye and their patrons, for both manuscripts and other miniatures. Subjects that are naturally small in size, such as butterflies and insects, were painted life sized. Thus the 1/6th scale rule that is used by some shows and societies today unfortunately causes a bit of confusion to those new to the art form who commonly assume that is it a part of a mechanical criteria of the miniature's definition. The world's experts in miniatures do not recognize the rule as legitimate, and view those embracing it as unknowledgeable, and dismiss them.
The term "miniature", as it addresses miniature painting, is often confused with "miniaturize" and some miniature art exhibitions do not refer to miniature as it's initial meaning of techniques, but rather the size of the painting (miniaturized painting). They are two very separate descriptions.
Miniature painting is an art form that is very rich in history that continues today by artists from around the globe. The beautiful ornamental qualities of the miniature should be preserved whether it be the intricate large pieces, or intimate hand held works.
Why It’s Crucial To Have A Dedicated Server
A dedicated server is a single web server or computer on the internet that hosts websites and shows pages as viewers request. A dedicated server is within a network of computers, exclusively dedicated to one costumer or a large business, since it can meet many needs.
Dedicated servers are most commonly used in the web hosting industry; hundreds of sites are hosted under one dedicated server. A dedicated server is considered to be the next step on from shared hosting environments. Having your own dedicated server makes you free of worry about other websites slowing you down or crashing your server. Dedicated servers also give you total control, and allows for installing software on your website that opens doors for gaining extra performance.
The advantage of having a dedicated server is that the clients of the server can customize both hardware and software setup so they meet needs like faster data access and effortless accommodation of traffic on the site.
These dedicated servers come with good costumer service. The web host works with the client in making sure that the dedicated server meets the needs of the client. In cases of companies having several divisions like a chain of outlets, it is still crucial for each to have their own dedicated server because they can create many domains on a single server easily, which results in more efficiency rather than having to lease host space on different web servers for each division or outlet individually.
For large companies having websites for every dealership such as motorcycle manufacturers, the advantage of having a dedicated server is that the parent company can put all of the websites for each dealership under the same server.
Here’s how it works. Assume a company named “Taurus Cars Corp.” is running a series of dealerships, the parent company could host an individual website for every dealership. Each website may look like this; for the parent company “www.taurusmotorscorp.com”, for the dealership in Florida “www.taurusmotorsflorida.com “, for the dealership in Colorado “www.taurusmotorscolorado.com” and so on.
The advantage of this setup is the dealership in Florida is using the same online tools as the dealership in Colorado. Making the online presence of the company Taurus Motors Corp. very streamlined and cost-efficient, while making things significantly easier for the company’s administration and support, also known as customization and uniform of point of sale software. Considering the websites of each of the different divisions or dealerships residing on one dedicated server, makes this advantage beneficial in terms of increasing sales.
In some cases other business want to use dedicated servers for the sole purpose of customization, costumer service, and fast access. They host websites themselves or better yet sub-lease the extra space for interested companies to set up their websites and domains. The advantage derived by any business under a dedicated server is the ability to enhance security.
All these advantages imply that dedicated servers are the best option for most large companies or businesses. Hosting personal websites or small business websites in general doesn’t require a dedicated server, instead for this purpose you can lease from a standard web host.

New Baby, Blogging, and Motherhood
Blogging with a new baby sounds a little nuts and is likely to be the last thing on your mind but it may just be the relief valve you need.
I put mothers on a very high pedestal. Even though I am a father and a grandfather, I really have no clue just how tough it is taking care of an infant. I know it's an almost incredible amount of work, and between changing diapers and keeping the nursery squared away it seems unrealistic to imagine that there would be time left over for any mother to blog. However, a growing number of moms are joining the blogosphere to share their experiences during this exciting and challenging time of life. There are a whole range of benefits that mothers can gain from blogging, and the spectrum covers everything from getting through the night to helping distant relatives feel closer, not to mention maintaining your sanity.
What is a blog and why is blogging such a great idea? A blog is nothing more than a daily journal, diary, if you will, of your thoughts and experiences. You write about them, in your own words, and post them online in your blog. Your readers then can comment and start a communication link with you. Best of all, blogging is free.
I run multiple free blogs and can tell you that blogging is a tremendous way to relieve stress and interact with others. It focuses me away from my daily routine and stresses. See my Author Box below for the link to my blog on Family Life to get an idea of what I am talking about. That blog is free on Blogger.com. There are other sources for free blogs but that's getting ahead of ourselves for this article.
For a mom dealing with the hassles and triumphs of a baby, blogging about your motherhood is a great way to blow off some steam or just to share some of the joys of motherhood. Your blogging may even help new mothers get through the trials and tribulations of their first infant.
If your baby often has very erratic sleep patterns that leave you up at odd hours of the night, blogging may just be the best way to fill those hours. Many moms turn to television to help them weather these dawn vigils but, by blogging through the night, moms can turn what feels like a somewhat depressing situation into an actively positive and productive one through blogging.
Another reason why moms often find blogging very satisfying is that it helps them to be a part of a community. For moms who are unable to successfully juggle a full social life with the very tough demands of taking care of a new baby, blogging can be a great way to stave off the isolation that sometimes comes during this stage of life.
A baby requires constant attention, and it can be difficult to attend social gatherings or events when you are responsible for an infant. Luckily, the internet is full of other moms in the same situation, and by chatting with them it is possible to overcome
some of the loneliness that many new mothers are surprised to encounter. If you are a new mother, you can learn from experienced mothers. If you are experienced, you can pass along your wisdom to the new mothers. In that process of exchange you all break the patterns of stress and isolation.
Of course, for a mom with an adorable new baby, blogging can be as much about celebration as it is about necessity. Having a blog about living with a new child can give mothers the chance to reflect on how powerful and warm the sensation of motherhood is, and sometimes sharing the triumphs of this unique time can make them even sweeter.
A blog is a great way to keep friends and family updated with news about your baby's first words or first steps, and with new technology it is easier than ever to make photos and video clips a part of your blog, so you can give far-away relatives the chance to feel much more involved in your child's life. Many email services now have the ability to email videos. You simply load the video onto your computer, attach it electronically, and your relatives get to see your baby is live action.
Blogging, at first, may seem a bit intimidating. Look for someone, a close relative who is computer savvy, to teach you the ins and outs or spend some time online in those wee hours surfing the internet for information about blogging. There is a ton a free tutorials online that will cut your learning curve and soon you can be a blogging whiz!

Does Coffee Have Any Antioxidant Benefits?
Before we get all excited over the recent news about coffee being our new antioxidant, we need to take a look at the entire picture. Is there truly a coffee antioxidant? If there is, how exactly is coffee an antioxidant? Does it become the antioxidant when it's heated? Does the coffee antioxidant benefit everyone? Are there still dangers to drinking coffee? How much coffee is good for us and when does it become bad for us?
Brewed coffee contains many antioxidants and consumption of antioxidant-rich brewed coffee may inhibit diseases caused by oxidative damages. Antioxidants are said to be an inhibitor of certain types of diseases. However, coffee beans are not all a like. Not all coffee beans are of the same quality or even the same make up. Sort of like comparing tennis shoes to sandals. Both go on your feet, but they are not made up of the same components. You can actually break coffee down into several different water-soluble components. The dietary fiber derived from roasted coffee silverskin. This is one component of the coffee bean that has high antioxidant content. This is how the scientists find out about the antioxidant benfits of coffee in their studies. What they do in fact is the break down the coffee beans into different components. They filter out the components that the coffee antioxidant is found in, and then they test lab rats in a variety of experiments to determine how well they survive with or without the various additives in their diet. When they discover something really swell, like a coffee antioxidant, our culture of coffee drinking addicts suddenly becomes a feverorish mob.
For years and years we've heard bad things about coffee. For example: it's bad for your heart, increases blood pressure, may cause breast cancer, probably keeps you awake at night, and my personal favorite, has a poisonous gas when brewed. When the world of coffee addicts even gets a tiny hint that coffee could have something beneficial, believe me they don't just drink more coffee, they try to get everyone to join them. So, here we now have scientific studies proving to us that coffee has antioxidants.
Researchers have identified several compounds in coffee that create a coffee antioxidant. Why would this be of interest to us? Because scientific studies are showing that antioxidants may help prevent cancer. You see the connection here. However, until human studies are done, science cannot state exactly how much coffee must be consumed in order gain this protection against colon cancer or any other type of cancer. Before the coffee is roasted the antioxidant benefits are varied. However, once the coffee is roasted and served as a drink things get evened out. They all seem to have the same degrees of antioxidants.
Some studies suggest coffee having other benefits such as added fertility in men and some benefits for those suffering from diabetes. You'll have to read those studies on your own. The fact that a coffee antioxidant exists may be true, but the reality is that coffee can be just as harmful if your body doesn't like it, if you consume too much, if you have high blood pressure, and if it keeps you awake at night. Is there truly a coffee antioxidant? Yes, but the actual amount needed to be consumed in order to receive the anti-cancer benefits by humans is unknown. How exactly is coffee an antioxidant?
Coffee alone isn't the antioxidant, it's several different components that are part of the coffee bean. Roasting and heating the coffee changes the total antioxidant output. Does it become the antioxidant when it's heated? It seems that although some coffee beans like green coffee beans may be higher in antioxidants that other more common beans, once they are roasted and heated for consumption, the results are the same regarding the antioxidantal benefits. Does the coffee antioxidant benefit everyone? Honestly, this is NOT a question easily answered. In fact, the truth is it is still unknown just how beneficial coffee antioxidants are for humans. Are there still dangers to drinking coffee? Yes, of course there is. If you have high blood pressure and you have seen how coffee enhances this problem, you know it's bad for YOU personally. If you can't get proper sleep or you drive everyone around you nuts because you can't sit still or shut-up, you know coffee is bad for you.
Use common sense and listen to your body. Coffee is not good for everyone and unknown just how good for anyone. How much coffee is good for us and when does it become bad for us? Again drink coffee in moderation, pay attention to your own body. Exercise and good eating habits are a far better way to get healthy than drinking 10 cups of cappuccino a day. All things in moderation. After reading everything about this new thing called a coffee antioxidant I have decided that there are better ways of getting antioxidants into my blood.
Coffee may have many benefits, but so does water and it is possible to drown from drinking too much water. Yes, I know, you have to really drink a lot to accomplish this, but it's the principle of the matter. Too much of anything is not a good thing.

My suggestion on how to monetize
1. If you have a typo of a good name
Park it in a reputable parking service.
Sometimes the visitors will go to your name by mistake and browse the site (includes clicking the ads if they believe it is relevant to what they are looking for)
2. If you recently registered a name (although the name itself may not be a dictionary word) that had contents and had visitors
Park it or develop it.
I would choose to park it because the visitors are smart, and if they noticed that the site was totally different from what it was, they will not visit again.
If you park it, they or visitors from search engine may browse out of confusion (may click the ad if they find what is relevant to what they are looking for).
3. If you register a good dictionary name
I would strongly recommend that you park it, and then putting it up for a sale. If you develop it, and it doesn't seem to drive up a lot of traffic, it may backfire on you if you want to sell it (Unless you have an idea to develop it into something that will drive a lot of traffic to your website).
4. If you register a good name that has a potential (like donatetopoor, stockpicks, etc)
Instead of parking it, develop it into a full site. Don't make a mini-site out of it. You have a potential to make a reputable website that will ensure there will be repeat visitors and increase in traffic with good SEO and advertisements.
You may choose to sell it for a hefty price if your site becomes popular. It's up to you.
5. If you registered a name in which you thought that it was good, but later realized it was not as good as you thought it would be (get-rich-by-doing-this.com, etc)
Make a mini-site first without parking it. Make a mini-site full of contents and pictures. Try to get RSS feeds and replenish your site often with fresh contents as often as you can. Don't spend too much of your time developing it. You don't need to make an awesome mini-site for this. Just wait for the search engine to pick it up.
Let your site age for a bit. See how many unique visitors are coming into your site. If you are satisifed with the number of unique visitors, you have two options:
1) If you like the name and will like to develop it as a hobby, go right ahead and put some advertisements.
2) If you don't want to pursue in development of your site, park it.

Pedophiles / Ephebophiles and Sexual Child Abuse
The media reported the Michael Jackson case incessantly for the duration of his trial. What was tragically lacking are the facts regarding pedophiles/ephebophiles and sexual child abuse.
Studies reveal 62% of girls and 31% of boys will be sexually abused by age 18—considered low based on health services.
— 80% are sexually abused by a family member
— 19% are abused by someone the child knows and trusts
— 1% according to government statistics are abused by strangers
The unbelievable truth: Pedophiles/Ephebophiles conduct themselves as average and ordinary to the world. He or she may be a leader in the church; the community; or business. Pedophiles/ephebophiles seldom fit a classic stereotype—education, socioeconomic status, career or culture.
Furthermore, sexual abuse/incest is more difficult to believe or accept when the person we like, admire, love, and/or marry is the perpetrator. This is precisely why Jackson’s family, fans and the uninformed can unequivocally believe he could not possibly be an Ephebophile—sexual attraction to adolescents.
Pedophiles/Ephebophiles are cunning predators with a honed mode of operation. They are experts at manipulation, thus escaping adult reality. They feel entitled, justifying their actions as loving; not harming the child. They expend considerable energy maintaining this illusion to themselves and others. They create a persona of goodness beyond reproach. They go to great lengths to present themselves as exemplary people, who love children. Jackson’s defense attorney, Mesereau, invoked this convoluted tactic in response to the judge’s ruling that previous accounts of sexual abuse claims, which were settled, was admissible. Mesereau countered, "He [Jackson] also has spent millions on children with AIDS. We can drown them with examples of where Mr. Jackson has been so benevolent, so generous, so charitable, so giving for good causes, that it will make their theory look silly."
Mesereau’s statement exemplifies, anyone who sees through the perpetrator’s façade is met with admonishment and rebuke for being critical, irrational, racist, out-to-get the person, and/or jealous. The perpetrator is the family emperor with no clothes. "I know my son, and this is ridiculous," Jackson’s mother, Katherine Jackson, said in an interview on CBS "The Early Show." She said people who believe Michael is guilty "don't know him." Jackson's father, said his son was beloved around the world but had trouble in the United States because of racism. He said the accuser's motives were clear: "It's about money."
Even more frightening Pedophiles/Ephebophiles do not hold beliefs reflecting society’s moral and ethical values. Therefore, coupled with the child’s innocence and trust of the abuser usually pressure or violence is seldom required. Thus, the perpetrator can unequivocally state, “I love children. Never-ever. I could never harm a child or anyone. It’s not in my heart. It’s not who I am.” --Michael Jackson, 1993.
There is another insidious aspect to Jackson’s contact with adolescents—he flaunts the relationship as ‘sweet and innocent’ admonishing anyone for believing it is sexual. Using the definition of sexual abuse, Jackson’s befriending adolescent boys under the guise of helping them with a life threatening illness and/or sleeping with them, albeit, he slept on the floor and the child slept in his bed, is in and of itself sexual abuse.
"Incest is both sexual abuse and an abuse of power. It is violence that does not require force. Another is using the victim, treating them in a way that they do not want or in a way that is not appropriate by a person with whom a different relationship is required. It is abuse because it does not take into consideration the needs or wishes of the child; rather, it meets the needs of the other person at the child's expense. If the experience has sexual meaning for another person, in lieu of a nurturing purpose for the benefit of the child, it is abuse. If it is unwanted or inappropriate for her age or the relationship, it is abuse. Incest [sexual abuse] can occur through words, sounds, or even exposure of the child to sights or acts that are sexual but do not involve her. If she is forced to see what she does not want to see, for instance, by an exhibitionist, it is abuse. If a child is forced into an experience that is sexual in content or overtone that is abuse.
As long as the child is induced into sexual activity with someone who is in a position of greater power, whether that power is derived through the perpetrator’s age, size, status, or relationship, the act is abusive. A child who cannot refuse, or who believes she or he cannot refuse, is a child who has been violated

What Went Wrong When Children Stop Sharing Their Problems?
All parents desire that their children share their problems with their parents. However, many children do not share the same desire. Why does such a situation arise?
It is very often painful for children to bring up their problems to their parents. If, what they get in return from their parents are nothing more that irrelevant, and sometimes inappropriate, responses and instructions, the children will feel that it is not worth their trouble to be open with their parents. Also, sometimes, the responses are so disempowering to the children that they are actually not only counter-productive, they can be very damaging to their children's development.
We, as parents, have to understand the reasons why giving out advices without careful understanding is not helpful. We will have to learn to respond to our children's problems in such a way that we empower them to solve their own problems.
We shall now discuss the reasons why giving advices to our children the usaul way is not helpful to our children.
We assume that we know what the problems are and forget to first listen carefully in order to better understand the problems. As a result, due to lack of in-depth understanding of the real issues, the advice that we so readily provide will not be relevant and will not solve the problems.
Without sufficient probing, we may not understand our children’s points of view or perspectives on what trouble them. As a result we do not provide the solutions that our children need. When our children share conflict that they are having with their friends, we may start advising them on how to stay away from those friends while they actually may be feeling guilty for not treating their friends right and want to gain the courage to apologize to their friend. As a result we may be doing further damage to relationships that they are trying so hard to salvage.
In our eagerness and haste to provide the counsel, we forget to extend empathy to our children for the problems they are facing. Our children will not feel connected to us, and they may feel that whatever suggestions we provide have no bearings on their problems and are unlikely to be accepted.
As we are the one dishing out the advice, if the advice turns out to be good, the credit goes to us and not to our children. On the other hand, if the advice is taken and implemented but does not turn out to be successful, it is taken to be our children’s fault as the advice is likely to have been one that was successful when followed by another person. In this case, it is a lose-lose situation for our children because if the advice is successful, we claim the credit and if it is a failure, it is a reflection of our children’s incompetence and stupidity.
We take the position of the experts who have the knowledge and wisdom and we talk down when we give advice, instead of speaking as equals. We treat our children as if they have neither the knowledge nor the skills to handle the problems. It is a one-way traffic and likely to be resented by our children because they feel that we treat them as if they have nothing good to share with us.
We give the message that we think our children cannot develop the solutions themselves. This is disempowering for our children and will do great harm to our children’s development.
We do not show appreciation for the efforts our children have taken in solving their own problems. This will discourage them to take great efforts in coming up with their own solutions and taking the necessary steps to solve the problems when other problems crop up in the future.
They may just want to share their problems with us and do not want or need any counsel from us at all. Whatever advice we provide may not only be futile, but damaging to our children’s self esteem.
We shall now discuss what we shall take into consideration when we respond to our children's sharing of the issues that they face.
How are you going to understand their problems and help your children gain a better understanding of their own problems so that they can develop their own solutions? As parents, we encourage our children to connect the various aspects of the problem that trouble them in order to help them to have a good grasp of the specific issues that trouble them and encourage them to develop their own solutions.
How are you going to show sufficient empathy with your children so that they feel fully connected with you enough to express their real thoughts and feelings and be receptive of what wisdom you may have to offer? Our children want to feel that we are there with them - not just physically, but emotionally as well. We want them to feel that we do feel the way they feel. It is vital that we do not belittle their feelings.
How are you going to make the situations "win-win" for them? That is, how are you going to encourage them to develop their own solutions and they take the credit when they succeed and also take the credit for the efforts taken when they fail? If they are the ones who come up with the solutions they should be the ones who claim the credits when they succeed. On the other hand, if they fail, provide the encouragement that they have taken the efforts which are by themselves very admirable. When they fail, encourage them to get up again, examine the reasons for failure and try again.
The last, but definitely not the least, question is this: “What else can you do to make them feel that it is always good for them to bring their problems to you?”

Single? What's WRONG with Him?
One of the many interesting things about being a life-long, single male in his early forties is people's reactions to that single-ness (yep, a word). Everyone has an opinion on it. Depending on the person's thinking, it can place me anywhere on the scale from 'complete social outcast', to 'coolest bloke on earth' and 'luckiest man alive'. And elicit responses ranging from pity and ridicule, to envy and admiration. Or in the case of my mother, complete devastation. My darling mum (mom) sees me essentially as a means to a grandchild and to be honest, I have been a bitter disappointment. Sure, she wants me happily married, but what she really wants... is that kid!! And yes, she lets me know it.
I love the mentality that says "single at that age, must be something wrong with him!"
Yep, had plenty of that.
"He's how old?.. and no woman, must have a lot of issues."
"Poor thing."
Interesting psychology that. Yet, very common.
It's like they have a picture in their mind of me sitting at home every night in my underwear, in a room lit by candles, eating meatloaf flavoured ice-cream from a paper plate, with my pet rat Eugene on my shoulder, my feet in one of those foot spas, a little 'Enya' playing in the background and some strategically placed cushions with images of my ex-girlfriends embroidered on them, lying around the room.
That's okay right?
If I had said tuna flavoured ice-cream, now that woulda been weird.
Waddya mean the cushion thing is creepy?
Oh well.
We all know that married people have no issues and that if, per chance, they do enter into their matrimonial journey with a few problems, the marriage ceremony will alleviate those instantly and forever. Great how that works isn't it?
What people think about me being single doesn't bother me at all, but it does interest me. For some bizarre reason, my single-ness is fascinating to some. I personally don't think it's interesting at all, but you would be shocked by the number of people who want to interrogate me regarding my 'lack of wife' status, in an attempt to discover what's wrong with me. "There's gotta be something, it's not normal" someone told me not too long ago. I wonder if I wasn't single, whether people would say "so Craig, why are you married?"
Apparently, as a Personal Development speaker and writer I should be married. It's a rule. People have suggested that my career would benefit from my extrication from the world of single-dom. Doesn't matter if I'm happily married or not, as long as I'm married.
A woman said to me recently, "I thought someone as evolved as you, would have found your soul-mate long ago." I actually laughed out loud at her. "Clearly, I have a way to go", was my response. Her friend (in the same conversation) suggested that I was probably gay but didn't know it, or want to admit it. "Oh, I'm pretty sure I'm not", I shared. "You think you're sure", she said. "All the pretty girls you meet, and not one wife?" I didn't realise 'pretty' was the determinant for a life partner. Missed that memo. Okay, note to self: if she's hot, marry her. There's my big mistake; stupidly, I've been looking beyond appearance. Idiot.
Apparently, my single-ness is some kind of indicator of dysfunction. That's it, I'm gettin' married this week. That'll fix me. Weirdo that I am.
I would never have thought to write an article on this topic, but some people seem to be fascinated by the whole single verses married discussion and in my little world, the conversation seems regularly to be directed back towards me. Of course there is no wrong or right, only opinions, so that's what I'm sharing. People often want to hear my thoughts on marriage because I'm single. Don't know why.
"Do you have marriage issues", I got asked last week. No, I love the idea of marriage and maybe I will be happily married one day, but if I don't get married, that's cool too. What I do have a problem with is, marrying someone who I'm not desperately, hopelessly in love with; marriage for the sake of not being single - seen it a million times.
For some people it's like...
"Yep, he (she) ticks all the right boxes, definitely a candidate. Let's see, money - check, good family - check, career - check, looks - check... marriage it is"
"Er, yeh but I don't really love him."
"Stop being unrealistic, your thirty four, your biological clock is racing, you won't do any better."
Over the years I have had many people say to me, "Hmm, you'd be a good catch... you need to meet my sister/daughter/cousin/girlfriend!" And their reason for saying that I'm a 'catch' is not because of my values, personality, integrity or all-round good-bloke-ness (a word), it's because they see me as being moderately successful and financially secure. A safe bet.
I find that sad.
"Yes, he ticks enough boxes, put him on the list Sally."
To me, some people seem to be more in love with the 'idea' of marriage than the actual person they're marrying or are married to. I see this as a catastrophe in waiting. It's also apparent that some people are so petrified of being single, that finding their 'soul mate' gets compromised down to "is he or she breathing? Wouldn't have been my first (or tenth) choice but hey, I have limited options, so giddyup cowboy(girl), get me that ring."
I have had literally thousands of conversations over the last three hundred years (you know I'm immortal right?) with people who are miserable in their marriage, yet amazingly, do nothing to fix it, or change the situation. For many people, marriage is something to be endured, tolerated even and of course for others, it's the best thing that will ever happen to them.
Okay, here are some random thoughts on the matter. Feel free to correct me or teach me a lesson - I am just a single bloke...
1. I am not against marriage in any way. Most of my friends are married and I know it can be an incredible part of the human experience. Given the opportunity with the right person, I would love to share my life with someone but, I'd rather be single forever, than married for the sake of it. And yep, I've been close a few times.
2. I don't believe that people need to be married to be fulfilled, functional, balanced or happy; those things are not dependant on marital status. You don't need to be a researcher to discover that marriage doesn't (automatically) equal happiness, just open your eyes. People seem to struggle with the thought of me being single and happy. They think I'm lying. It bothers them.
"You're not really happy, you only think you are... you're just trying to convince yourself."
"Er, okay. I didn't realise how miserable I am - thanks".
3. Some people are so terrified of being alone that they will compromise themselves to the point of actually losing their identity. "I'll be whatever you want me to be.." You've seen it. Maybe you've been it. Misery and frustration is always the result. It's important (for many reasons) that we learn to be comfortable and secure on our own before we launch into a life partnership.
4. A person who really gets to know themself and is truly comfortable with their own company, will be more attractive to a potential partner.
5. Too many people enter into marriage wearing those rose coloured glasses, only to have them ripped off by about day three. They spend a year planning how to have a great wedding and zero time planning how to have a great marriage.
6. People who have that sense of urgency to get married are less likely to find marital bliss and less likely to appeal to a potential partner. Note to all wanna-be brides and grooms: Desperation - not attractive.
7. While I'm open to the idea of marriage, and I would love a little Craig or Craigette one day, I love my life right now and I gotta say, singledom... not as horrible as some would have you believe!!!
Okay, now that I've opened that can of worms, I'll let you play with them.
I'm off to finish my meatloaf ice-cream and revel in my dysfunction.
Hey, where's Eugene gone?

What Every Dog Owner Ought to Know About Holiday Safety
The Christmas holidays are fast approaching! While you're busy decorating and preparing your home for guests, here are a few important tips to keep your dog safe this season.
The Christmas Tree
Tinsel, small ornaments, and ornament hooks are major choking hazards for dogs. It's best to avoid tinsel altogether and keep small ornaments high on the tree, out of the dog's reach. Also, make sure there are no stray ornament hooks on the floor!
If your family has a real tree (as opposed to an artificial tree), it's best to block off the area around the tree with a screen or gate. Many dogs become ill from drinking tree water and ingesting pine needles. Vacuum the area around the tree regularly.
Holiday Guests
It's exciting to have family and friends over during the holidays—even for your dog! But there are certain precautions you should take when having company over.
Dogs can easily slip out the door when people are continuously going in and out. Make sure your dog is wearing an identification tag with your phone number, even if he is micro-chipped. Not everyone who finds a lost dog knows to have him checked for a micro-chip.
Your guests may adore your dog, but don't let them give your dog any food without asking. Children especially may want to give the dog a treat—hand them a safe treat and supervise while they give it to the dog. Under no circumstances should your dog be given turkey or chicken bones. They are too small and are a serious choking hazard. As an alternative, buy a marrow bone at the grocery store as a special holiday treat.
Why You Shouldn't Give Dogs as Gifts
Bringing a new dog into the family is a wonderful thing, especially if you adopt a dog from a shelter. However, giving a dog as a Christmas gift is never a good idea. Regardless of whether the dog is a puppy or an adult, his first few days in your home should be all about him. The holidays, for most families, are too chaotic and busy for a dog to get used to his new environment, and he may become anxious or frightened.
A great idea for families who want to give their children a dog for Christmas is to gift wrap a dog bone. When the child opens it, tell them it's for the new dog that you'll be getting in a few weeks. Or you can leave a note from Santa explaining that he didn't have enough room on his sleigh and will be coming back with the dog. Animal shelters are flooded every January with dogs who were given as Christmas gifts—so January is a great time to adopt a dog who needs a home.
Lastly, it's always a good idea to have your vet's phone number posted in a visible spot. Your vet's office should have someone answering the phone 24/7.
The most important thing to remember, amidst all the chaos of the holidays, is to always know where your dog is and what he's up to. That way everyone in your home, including the four-legged family members, can have a Merry Christmas.

Reverse Mobile Phone Lookup
The Reverse phone lookup service that I used was called Reverse Mobile. It was very important to me that I had reliable information, and if it’s important to you that you get the correct information on people you’re looking for, I recommend that you use Reverse Mobile. Cell Phone reverse Lookup - Reverse Cell Phone Numbers - Find Cell Phone Numbers - Free cell phone lookup - Address lookup-Reverse Mobile lookup.
Aside from the name that is listed with the cell phone number, a reverse mobile phone search can also provide additional information like the address and other contact details of the individual. Reverse Mobile is hands down to the 1 Reverse Phone Service on the Internet.
Actually reverse cell phone lookup is much more secured than regular directory services because lots of cell phone numbers are already unlisted. Naturally, as numbers of cell phone user continues to grow, cell phone lookup as service will grow and improve with it. Cell Phone reverse Lookup - Reverse Cell Phone Numbers - Find Cell Phone Numbers - Free cell phone lookup - Address lookup-Reverse Mobile lookup.
Do these cell phone lookup websites provide sensitive information like SS numbers, SIN numbers etc. However many times reverse cell phone lookup will not provide you with any more information about the numbers owner if that cell phone number is unlisted. Besides that, in case that you already have trouble caused by reverse cell phone lookup, what you must do is have all your phone numbers changed (regular and cell), and make sure to demand that with any service you use.

First Date Basic Training - Guaranteed Ways To Make A First Date Sizzle
You don't realize it yet, but in the next 2 minutes you're going to learn how to make a first date sizzle and maybe lead to an even deeper relationship.
As exhilarating as first dates may be for many men and women, the first date could be a mental and emotional battleground where every footstep could be your last.
There are numerous steps you'll be able to take to not only assure you get out of the date in one piece, but also grant yourself and your date the probability of enjoying the occasion, and maybe even receiving the opportunity of a meaningful relationship growing.
Men need to be conscious of just how significant first impressions could be to a woman. Make certain you dress up suitably and are nicely groomed. Although men oftentimes have to wear the tag of being skin-deep because they put a bit too much importance on a woman's appearance, do not for a second believe that women aren't just as aware of a man's appearance and physical attractiveness.
For men, posture is really crucial. Self-confidence is in all probability the most appealing quality that a man can present to a woman. Women like their men to be men. They wish them to look like men and to act like men. A man needs to stand up tall, with shoulders back and chin up. His walk had better project deliberateness and purpose. This manner is not some arrogant strut, just a case of a male who recognizes where he is heading every step of the way.
Equally part of a man's physical presence, eye contact is particularly significant. As the expression goes "The eyes are the windows to the soul" and a man who can make and hold eye contact exposes himself to be somebody who Is not too timid to get in touch and let himself be understood. It also shows interest, something that women would like to feel when they are with a man.
Women also want to be aware of their appearance and their clothing. For first dates a woman will prefer to preserve a level of mystery, so clothing in a fashion that is overly revealing, is not the way to go. Believe it or not, even the most self-confident of men can occasionally feel intimidated being with a woman they don't know all that well when she is wearing revealing clothing.
Give the guy a break. He is attempting to be on his best demeanor and also trying to control genetic programming that all but ensures that if something is left even a bit exposed he will look and usually look repeatedly at it.
A woman can help a man loosen up and be at ease while contributing to her mystique if she dresses more on the conservative side on a first date.
And if you want to make a very positive impression on a man, eye contact and a big smile does work wonders. An encouraging easygoing gaze that indicates interest will also help a man loosen up and be more of himself.
In virtually every first date scenarios somebody must jump in and take charge of the date. Generally this falls on the individual who does the inviting out. Ideally it ought to be the man. And here is why.
At this point of the game women like a man to take charge. As much as equal opportunities exist between the sexes these days, there are thousands of years of genetic programming that overrule social patterns.
A male, who takes control, leastways on the first date, creates a very favorable impression on any woman whether she likes to acknowledge it or is even conscious of it. Remember, women want men to be men.
First date conversation can be difficult for most men and women. Being able to hold up your end of a conversation is unquestionably a minimum necessity, but what is even more significant as far as conversation is concerned is not so much what is said but rather how you listen.
Active thoughtful listening, that is, hearing with real involvement and attention will encourage your date to verbalize more and be more at ease doing so.
Men love to be asked questions. Why? Because it gives them license to speak about themselves. Although women broadly speaking are quite comfortable speaking about themselves and their feelings on various topics, most men won't be as outgoing.
Nevertheless, if you ask a man a question, they will reply. It permits them to divulge more of themselves without considering that they are carrying on about themselves. In this first date scenario, a man will answer just about any enquiry that is asked, so it is a wonderful chance for a woman to discover what he's genuinely like. Or at any rate as much as you can in a a couple of hours.
On the man's side he needs to be an active listener. He needs to make certain that when his date is speaking that there is nothing more important than her and what she is expressing.
Eye contact and acknowledgment of what she is articulating (a perceptive nod of the head when suited for example) will encourage her to keep going.
First dates should be playful. They are filled with a sense of possibility and exhilaration difficult to come by in other settings. The most effective first date "strategy" is genuinely nothing more than, making the most of yourself and your appearance and doing whatever you can to make your date have the very most favorable time they potentially can.

Second Step In The Journey To Success
Money is an Idea
“Money Talks,” they say, and certainly everyone talks about money. Money is so popular a subject because it represents a great many things to so many people – food, clothing, freedom, a home, care, etc.
Before money, people traded goods for someone else's goods or service. Now, people use money as a trading medium. It's simply a concept. As long as people have confidence in the system, then money will retain a certain value. You do one hours work in exchange for so much money. You in turn take that money and trade it for a product or service. A portion of that is called on to return back to the Government to do public works. The more you earn the more you return to expand the social infrastructure. And another plus is the more money you have the more people you can help; let me assure you, there is no virtue in being poor.
What is money anyway? Money in itself is worthless it's only worth is that which society places on it. People must believe and have faith in its purpose before they can accept it as tender. People are willing to trade good, services and labor for nothing more than an idea because the Government places a guarantee of value on it. Look what happened after the Civil War. Confederate money became worthless overnight. In short, money is to the individual exactly what he/she intends to do with it. Because money has no value in of itself, it is only as valuable as what it is exchanged for Money is only a representation of something else.
Why chase something that is worthless?
The fact is, money is the fuel that runs the world. Sound strong? Then why is there a need for a world bank? Why are third world countries in such despair? Why do people kill for money, and why do so many people risk everything just for the chance of having wealth? You don't have to look any further than the Internet as an example of how far people will go for money. Some of the most outlandish claims I have ever heard in my life are on the Internet. $30,000.00 in one week? Give me a break! Six figures in two months, maybe, if you have $50,000.00 to spend doing it. The reality is, if you are going to become wealthy, you have work for it. Dedicated hard work! No setting around on the beach, no playing on the yacht! No BS all work. Unless your rich Uncle leaves it to you or you hit the lottery, you have to work. I don't mean work at the local fast food place, I mean get down and devise a plan to make your time pay off big time. Wealth – for some it's only a dream and for others, it's a lifestyle.
There are no mysterious secrets or magical incantations for gaining wealth. There is no witchcraft or voodoo involved. In fact, it is quite the contrary. There is no evil in the gaining of wealth. Money is just a tool to be used at the discretion of its' holder. It's the love of money that gets people in trouble. When people put money first, they have made it their master.
Develop A “Life Plan”
Live the plan, stay the course and don't loose sight of your objective. Let's face it, how many years do you expect to be around, sixty, seventy eighty and beyond? Of course no one can rightfully say how long they will live but they can devise a plan to minimize risk and accentuate the productive years so they will take care of the nonproductive ones. The first half of life is caring for the business of making money, the second half the money takes care of you.
Let's say you go to work in some capacity at the age of twenty you can plan at what year you will leave the workplace and enter retirement. Retirement now days has a different meaning than a few years ago. Now it's called “active retirement” because retirees are found more and more on the golf course, traveling and perusing the arts than ever before. A retirement has become a new life style for the thousands who took the time to plan their life early on.
Keeping active retirement in mind, and assuming you want to be active, how much assists must you have and at what age to sustain you? You will have gotten used to a certain lifestyle at retirement, will you be able to maintain it? Say you set your retirement at fifty that give you thirty years to gather enough assets to keep you in comfort for to another thirty plus years. I have good friends in their late eighty's and a couple who are well into their nineties. If you're twenty now chances are with the advancements in medicines, you will live to be one hundred or beyond. So, you may have to accumulate enough to last for fifty years. Half of life working to pay for the other half, seems reasonable, and why not? Now days there are all kinds of financial planners who will be glad to assist you in your endeavor.
Another consideration is, what happens if you fall ill and require care or have large medical bills? Medical bills have been known to wipe out complete life assists leaving the ill person at the mercy of the state or relatives. How can you protect yourself against such a disaster? There are several ways, all starting at your earliest age possible. First is insurance. In today's world, medical insurance is a must. Life insurance is also recommended for any one who has a family. Take my word for it, you will be treated according to who you are and the value of your insurance policy. Sound harsh, it is, but it is the truth. In the United States the better your insurance the better is your chance of surviving a catastrophic illness. Your life depends on your ability to pay – it's that simple. The earlier you are able to purchase insurance the less it will cost.
Ok, Ok so much for piddling around, How do you get started? First things first and the first thing you have to do is evaluate where you are now. Most people have no idea where they stand. They might know how much they are bringing in every week and how much the rent is, but they don't have a clue as to how to live life. They're lost, why, because everyone around them is lost. They go to work every day and work their rears off, and don't get anywhere. They come home and are faced with payments up to their ears. They try to keep up with the neighborers and friends but it takes more than they make. They don't realize their friends and neighborers are doing the same thing. They're caught in a never ending cycle of paying the man for a lifestyle built on false dreams and illusions. They get sick way to often from the stress, they drink to escape and their relationships crumble from lack of commutation. The plod on year after year,. dissatisfied, dejected and ridden with the guilt of failure. It's no wonder so many mental disorders are beginning to emerge in today society. We want freedom but we don't know how to go about getting it.
No matter what is going on in your life, you can't make a plan until you have established a starting point, and it's just as important to know where the ending point is also. By the way, it is the responsibility of every mature adult to assist the very young in a workable life plan. Make it a game, here is Go, and how many places do you pass before you hit the finish line? Moms, Dads, set your kids down and talk to them of the importance of planning. You can be the factor that gives them a well prepared and enjoyable life experience. Show them how to engage life and love it. A high priority for young people is to prepare for and obtain a higher education. The education process is simply a preclude into a career. A career may be working for someone else or working for your self, it depends on which will best suite your needs.
Working for someone else has its benefits. Once you are off the clock your time is yours and you leave your work at the office. The problem is, there are limitations on how much you can make; money wise. You have to find the highest bidder for your time and determine if it is enough to fill your needs. Then you have to take some money earned and make it earn money. How about happiness, will you be happy working for xyz company? Happiness and fulfillment are important for a good life experience, it effects your relationships and health.. How about relationships, will xyz company provide you with the needed time to satisfy your personal relationships? For many people this is an ideal solution. Work for the man, paycheck in hand. What is the big drawback with this way of thinking? There are no guarantees! XYZ company may belly up after you have been there for twenty years. Then what? What happens if the company executives run off with the bankroll and skip town? Then what? See the pattern, you have no control over the situation, and therefore you don't have control over your life.
How about setting your own conditions by taking control and mapping your own destiny? Sound like a better plan? Not so fast! We're talking about self-employment and how to find self in employment? You either become a one person operation or an employer responsible for others. How do you become self-employed? First planning, second preparation, third activation. There are a number of avenues you can take. There are franchises, business opportunities, inheritance and self creations.
Franchises are tried and proven packages. A franchiser provides all the business expertise needed (marketing and advertising plans, management guidance, financing assistance, site location, administrative support and training) to expedite the business. This is valuable business information that would otherwise not be available to businesses starting from scratch. A franchise could be either a product or service where the franchiser owns the right to the name or trademark and leases or licenses that right to a franchisee. Example, Mc Donald, The UPS Store, Chem-Dry and thousands of others. This type of business in usually confined to a geography area and subject to the franchiser's rules and regulations.
Licenses or granting rights to the distribution of a product of service. This type of franchise provides a full range of services, including site selection, training, product supply, marketing plans, and even assistance in obtaining financing. Distributes are give exclusive rights to sell a product as long as certain conditions are met. They must withhold the integrity of the products company but are not liable for any mishaps directly linked to the product. They must maintain certain sales levels and provide material safety data sheets to the customer. A distributorship may be selling cars, airplanes, boats, chemicals, food, etc.
The there is being a Representative, or what's commonly called Repping. This is where a person is given the rights to represent a particular product or service. Reps usually are confined to a area in which they make sales and training calls. Reps are independent contractors and are paid on a commission plus expenses bases.
Business opportunities are turn key package businesses that allow the entrepreneur freedom to be creative. There is little difference between a franchise and a business opportunity. The biggest difference is, the business person does not have to purchase all his/her products from one supplier. Also, the business opportunely offer cannot include a business plain or define a market area. It also cannot define work hours, dress or sales strategy. The offer usually will strongly suggest procedure but it cannot demand it.
These are only a few package type business that are available. Most come with a hefty price, running into millions of dollars. Some can be had for only a few thousand but the more known he branding is, the more expensive the business offer will be.
An inherited business is one you take over from some one else. You have to be careful here, you might inherit someone else's bad reputation. If you take over Tony's Dinner, make sure you know how to cook. You will have to know how to service people, order supplies, do bookkeeping, local laws and regulations as well as know your responsibilities toward employees and government.
The entrepreneur is a creator. They look for and find niches to fill. They are the carpet cleaners, painters, plumbers, contractors and thousands of other ventures. They are the risk takers that can carve a empire out of making snuff or ice cream. They are the thinkers and doers that bring excitement into our everyday lives. Look back in time and it was entrepreneurs like Rupert Murdoch, Warren Buffet John Rockefeller, These and many other entrepreneurs were the captains of industry that shaped the American landscape to bring us the lifestyle we enjoy today. How about the thousands of men and women who brought us little things like, TV, radio, automobiles, airplanes, ice cream, electricity in the home and most of all indoor plumbing. Now we don't have to poop in the woods. Some failed but saw their dreams live on; like the Hoover vacuum. DOS for the computer propelled Bill Gates into being the richest man in the world, but it was originally developed by someone else and sold to Bill Gates for almost nothing. But it was Gates and his cohorts who took the product and convinced IBM to use DOS as an operation system for their computer, and the rest is history.
There must be more to come as we tackle the nitty-gritty of becoming successful.

Get Free Commercial Coffee Maker With 3 Surefire Techniques
Now, the very first thing you need to know is that commercial coffee maker,e.g. Keurig B3000 or Nescafe Lioness H5 that are being used for offices, is free. That means, if you have it in the office, you would not have to pay for it, unless you are the boss!:)
So, now the focus becomes how to get the commercial coffee maker into the office. Not an easy task, given the shrinking profit margin due to lousy exchange rate and rising cost of goods. And having a coffee machine is an additional expense, something that the management does not think would add to the bottom line of the company.
And it is this bottom line that would be our life saver, the one single component that we would use to convince management that the commercial coffee maker's expense does indeed improves the bottom line!
Bring these points across and segment it into 3 main pointers: Team work, Morale and productivity. These 3 elements gives you a better work force that is loyal and willing to go the extra mile (say it with some zeal, practice it before presenting to management)
1. Team work
Ask the boss this: do you want a project that can bring the whole department together? Trust me, you would get a resounding YES.
Then tell him the plan to start a pantry project to bring in a commercial coffee maker to better the welfare of the department. Sell on the points of how everyone is working together to better the welfare and how this would be the stage for future collaboration.
If he/she buys the pitch at this point, stop and proceed to "plan" and "team work" for the commercial coffee maker. If he/she is still hesitant, move on to the next point.
2. Morale
Other than the team work, this is a project that the employees are doing for themselves. The bosses can take this opportunity to highlight and impress on the employees, that the management cares for their welfare by providing them a pantry with this commercial coffee maker.
And nothing lingers on more by being exposed to it for a long period of time. Getting involved in a project to get the commercial coffee maker for themselves, the employees would be continually be reminded on the point that the "management cares".
This is usually something that the bosses want, a group of loyal employees that knows the bosses care for them. At this point, you should get the coffee machine approval.
He/she is still considering? Man...time to use point 3 that should do the trick.
3. Productivity
Highlight to the boss that everyone goes for coffee break and he/she has a choice of an employee taking the break in the office or across the street in a Starbucks.
Time savings would be at least 15 minutes. Employees generally spent lesser time taking break in office, with various factors such as people are watching, saves on the traveling time and bosses might be around.
Given that each employee has 2 breaks, that would be 30 minutes savings. Based on an executive pay of $50/hour, that would be $25 savings for a day, $125 productivity dollars saved per week or $6500 per year!
Using the productivity variable with shrewd costing should get you the commercial coffee maker, and your next headache would be which coffee makers to purchase to get the best coffee experience in office!
Oh, just in case, all 3 techniques did not succeed in getting that coffee maker, then you should still be pleased!
Imagine, there you are enjoying a cuppa from Starbucks knowing that the time is paid by the company at a cost of approximately $6500/year or more!:)

How To Build A Website That Makes Money
As little as one decade ago an ecommerce site was the domain of techno wiz’s and coding geniuses. Today the Internet business world is not limited to the technically gifted and motivated. Anyone can build an ecommerce business due to the advent of WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editors, web building wizards, open source blog and web site platforms, as well as platform like Ebay, Amazon, etc.
A person can build a viable web business without ever understanding how to configure a Mysql database or coding in HTML or PHP. A strong computer background or time needed to learn, is all the skills needed to get started.
Static Pages & Content Management Systems
Static pages are like digital paper. They do not change. They end in .htm, and remain the same until the owner changes the content on them.
A content management system can be as simple as a www.blogger.com or Wordpress blog. Or, it can be a complex $10 000 platform that is powerful enough to run 100 000 pages of content. The objective is to create something for the search engines to send their robots to for ranking and traffic generating.
The content should be designed to create demand, solve problems, and offer solutions. The secondary purpose is to optimize the website increasing the traffic and profit.
What Are You Selling
The Internet does not require a tangible product for sale. There are dozens of things to sell which are not tangible including downloads, education, affiliate and advertising, pre-selling, or social/ entertainment. Creating a site where people can come and share their love for a hobby, venture, belief, or view, can provide a good opportunity for a savvy business owner.
It is possible to sell entertainment. It is possible to sell ‘meeting people.’ Many Internet businesses have grown to unbelievable levels of success doing just this. Some examples are youtube.com, facebook.com, myspace.com and more.
The first step to building a website is not designing the site. It is deciding what is being sold. Why will people come to the website? What will attract them? What will make visitors stay at the site?
Understanding what is for sale will help the business owner pre-sell the product without continually telling people to buy something. In fact, the most profitable sites are those that do not try to sell anything.
Monetize the Website
The term monetize the website means to create a website that doesn’t sell anything. Its sole purpose is to pre sell a product and make money by driving people to websites that do sell something. This is a popular method of income generation as it lets Internet businesses to create multiple streams of income and diversify without needing to invest money into products, merchant accounts, and warehousing or drop shipping.
Shopping Carts
Once the website owner decides what to sell, they need to determine what type of platform. Many new companies stick with paypal.com an ebay company. Other people do not try to do it their own. Instead they take their time and explore their options.
One way is to use prostores.com, ebay.com, or amazon.com to sell their products.
Stay Up To Date
Being behind the times is a quick way to go out of business. Ecommerce companies need to stay up to day. That e-book should be changed into a home study or an e-course. The download should become a video or audio file. The free blog – a personalized website. The internet world is evolving. As fast as users become familiar with one form of Internet tool or feature, another is quickly increasing to take its place.
The key to success is remaining educated, reading everything you can, and staying up to date with the web and all the tools it has. What makes money? Something new.

Yahoo Messenger 9 Beta

Latest Yahoo Messenger Beta 9, is having a major overhaul in term of design, with new brand set of skins and several features added in this new version. The installation is pretty much the same as any previous ones and hassle free as usual. I usually wait for a product to go to alpha before using it, but taking the glimpse of the screenshots and buzzes created by my fellow bloggers, this Yahoo Messenger is really giving me the impulsive drive to try this new version out right away.
So what’s new with this version?
- A whole new look for your contact list. Keep it in detail view to see larger Avatar images for your friends, or switch to compact list view (in the Contacts menu). Plus, you can just hover and click to IM, SMS or call a friend.
-This is my favourite feature. Sharing a video (e.g from youtube) with your buddies is made easier because you can watch the video right inside the chat window. Say no more to external browsers. This new in-line media player feature is not only limited to video but it also extends to other things like maps and photos. Best of all, it’s built in and no plugins required.
- Brand new skins and emoticons! Click the dot near the top of your Messenger window to choose a skin, and check the emoticon menu for the new ones that were inspired by user entries in our Emoticontest earlier this year (more on our winners in a future post).
- This is another small feature spotted by my little sister. Emoticons can appear on the status message. I never knew how does it look like in the previous version, but this must be a cute little toy for teenager of my sister’s age.
- New Flickr integration in the photo sharing feature. Easily share photos from your Flickr.com account, or save photos shared with you directly to Flickr.
So what’s your reckon? Give it a try by downloading Yahoo Messenger Beta 9.0 here.

Are you ready for Vista?

Windows Vista is the unprecendented Windows OS release that requires a dedicated graphic card to exploit its full potential. For home users, there will be three versions: Vista Home Basic, Vista Home Premium and Vista Home Ultimate. With such high specifications, Microsoft really wants users to consider to upgrade their computers.
If you really interested in using Windows Vista, you must first check your computer capability to handle the enourmous needs of Vista. You can check your computer’s compatibility by visiting the following url.
1. Visit Are you Vista ready?
2. Read through the license agreement and press agree at the bottom of that page. Shortly after that, a popup will appear and select the can you run it?
3. If the active-x is off, you need to turn that on. Supposed you don’t have Java runtime environment installed in your computer, you need to install it and it will take a few minutes to complete.
4. After that, you are required to install a small software (adware, spyware free and it does not collect any info from your computer), to check your computer’s compatiblity.

Here’s the test result of my computer. I need to upgrade the processor and the graphic card (thinking of having new computer). So, how’s your computer perform in the test? Are they Vista ready?
