Data Recovery Freeware - Why Should You Have It And How Will It Help You?

Many of us know what it is like to have a computer problem and lose all our important files. In many cases, this does not necessarily mean absolute tragedy. Don't despair. There are ways to retrieve lost files. One great option is to pick a good data recovery freeware. Often, this is a good idea but there are also some important considerations that you should have in mind when using recovery freeware.

Who Should Try It

Freeware may be the best option for you but only under certain conditions. It is important to remember that for some cases, freeware may work best. There are still however, some occasions when they may not exactly be everything you hoped for. In some situations, there is no absolute certainty that you will get back everything that you have lost.

Data recovery freeware is often best used when files have been lost or damaged because the system user has made a mistake. Freeware also works great when a virus is the cause of data loss or damage. It is very important that you take the time to assess your problem first before attempting to use any software to help recover lost data.

The best thing about data recovery freeware, should you decide to choose this option, is that you wouldn't have to shell out thousands for it. You can try it for yourself and see if you can get good results. If you choose the right one, then there is a great chance that it can easily solve your data loss problems.

Even when paid services for data recovery are eventually required, you can always try freeware first. Some people do this and then only progress at a later time to employing experts for a fee when more complicated recovery work is required.

Who Shouldn't Try It

It's tempting to try data recovery freeware upon suffering data loss of any kind. This isn't such a good idea though. You shouldn't try it under certain circumstances. You may have to find another way to recover your files in cases when freeware is not advisable.

Freeware probably wouldn't make a dent in your data loss problems if the cause of it is hardware damage. Try to check first if your problem stems from computer hardware problems. Data recovery freeware is only truly advisable when your concern is related to software issues.

Using freeware for data recovery is also inadvisable if you have to follow an installation procedure before it can run. This obviously means you have no chance at all of getting your data back. Freeware should be able to function by using only certain Internet services or a disc.

These days, you can get freeware from a lot of sources but you shouldn't take the risk with an unknown program. The best way to find a good program that actually works is to ask people who have used them. Ask for recommendations from those who have actually used the freeware you have chosen.

Where You Can Get It

By simply entering 'data recovery freeware' into a search engine's search box you are bound to get some items that you may be able to use. If you are unfamiliar with any of the programs listed, you can head off to technical forums, blogs and website to get some good user reviews, advice and tips about the particular software that you have found.

Date recovery freeware is obviously the cheapest (hey... it's free), but not always necessarily the best option to use for your computer data recovery. So what is the best option? For more advice on date recovery services and procedures, visit www.datarecoveryfreeware.net right now.

Linux Data Recovery

Linux is valuable not only as an operating system but also as a gateway to all of the codes used to create it. This means that it can be adapted to suit your particular needs. However useful and valuable Linux systems may be, they aren't infallible. They are just as vulnerable to data loss as other computer operating systems.

A unique new technology is being used in Linux data recovery. During a scan, IntelligentScan reads data directly from the disk to determine the extent of the damage. It analyses the data and attempts to sort it into different record categories. Some of the categories include: MBR records, FAT Boot sector records, MFT records, HFS/HFS+ Volume Header, and HFS/HFS+ Btree+ Node.

Each record type has a unique structure that is known to data recovery specialists. Specialists also have knowledge regarding the values of record fields and the relations between the fields for each record type. This knowledge allows them to determine a record type for the data. If data can't be assigned to a specific record type with any certainty, it can be assigned to the type that is the most likely option. If it's difficult to identify only one probable type, it's possible to assign data to several record types, all of which will generate possible files.

The standard practice for data recovery companies is to create a list for each record type. The list includes the records that have been assigned to a type, along with their assignment probability. Different lists can be created, many of which will contain the same data. The information on all of the lists will be analysed and used to generate a list of found partitions. The new list will include information regarding partition parameters such as probable size, cluster size, existence probability and file system type.

Recovery specialists use the file and partition lists to reconstruct file systems and files on the found partitions. It's possible to assign one file to several different partitions. On completion of the hard disk scan, the technicians are able to show all of the found partitions. The parameters can then be manually corrected, provided enough information is available to do so.

IntelligentScan technology enables the recovery of files on new and existing partitions. Data can also be recovered from partitions that have been deleted or reformatted.

In the biological world it can take thousands of years for a species to evolve and climb one rung up the evolutionary ladder. In the technological world, especially the world of computers, evolution seems to occur on a weekly basis. Technology advances at a rapid rate, which allows us to do more with it, which in turn leads to more advanced technology. As we continue to develop, and as data recovery methods evolve, it will soon be possible to reconstruct every move ever made on a computer, no matter how bad the damage. This is bad news for those who use their pcs for nefarious means, but for those of us trying to earn an honest living, it sounds like an outstanding safety net against data loss.

Easily Fix Your Slow Computer

Have you seen a popup for a "live operator" when you try to leave a website after viewing a product? That's a little pesky program! It attempts to entice you with a discount on the product that you just got through reading the sales page for. It's irritating, because it's hard to get out of the webpage or shutdown the program. Unless, you shutdown your computer. It irritated me so much, that I had to figure out a way to solve this problem. Read on, if you want to know how.

Here's how you can shutdown that program without shutting down your computer. Right click on your taskbar and select "task manager". Next, click the "applications" tab and you will see that program labeled "live operator.exe" or something similar. Put your mouse pointer on that program. Click the left mouse button and will highlight the application "live operator.exe" Then, move down to the button labeled "end task", and click on it. That will shut that program down, and you can continue what you were doing before you were interrupted.

If you click the "performance" tab, you will get an actual sinewave representation of what your computer is doing. You don't have to pay attention to it, because there is a little bar graph on the left labeled "CPU usage" which you can look at. One way this is helpful, is you can check the CPU usage, and see how high it is. The higher the CPU usage number, the harder your computer is having to work. Just think of the CPU as the "brain" of your computer. The higher that CPU usage number is, the slower your computer will run. You will notice that when you try to direct your web browser to another site, it will take a while before anything happens. Basically, the things that normally happen fast will slow way down, and you may never be able to go to the new website that you put in your web browser. Your computer may lock up, and do nothing at all. Your system is probably being tracked by spyware or some other nuisance program. Even the cookies that you receive when visiting websites, can slow down your computer. Anything that is trying to track you while your online will slow down your computer. And, even if you close the window, it doesn't clear up the problem.

Luckily you can take care of this problem with the Windows Task Manager also. Just click the "processes" tab which is inbetween the "applications" and "performance" tab, and you will see all the programs that are running on your computer. You will notice that some of the numbers are changing rapidly under the CPU column, and they are close to 80% or 90% or higher. When we closed the "live opeator.exe application while ago, that still didn't fix our problem.

Here's the next step we can take which should fix this problem. Look in the column for the name "iexplore.exe" which is your web browser (Internet Explorer). Put your mouse pointer on that word and select it by clicking your left mouse button. Then go down below, and click on the tab that says "end task". That will break the connection between you and whatever was slowing down your computer. Your problem should be fixed. If you go back and click on the "performance" tab, you can take a look at the "CPU usage" bar display. Notice how that number has decreased. Remember, the lower that number, then the faster your computer will run.

Still, there is another thing that can slow your computer down. There has to be enough memory available for the computer to keep it from slowing way down. Click on the "performance" tab. You will see four areas. Look at the area that is labelled "physical memory".Take the number labelled "total" and subtract 70%. Take a look at the number labelled "available", and if it is lower than the number you just got, then there is not enough memory. For example, on my computer "total" = 522800 - 365960 (70%) = 156840. If the "available" number drops below 156840, then your computer will run slower. The only way to fix this problem is to close some programs or install some more memory in your computer.

Windows Task Manager can help alot when trying to fix a slow computer. Anybody can do this. It's easy to go through the steps, and get your computer fast again. But, first you have to know about Windows Task Manager and how to use it. The next time you have a problem, I hope you can refer to this article to help you.

How To Compare 529 Plans?

If you are investing in a 529 state plan, it is easy to compare. The reason is that American citizens are allowed to take any state plan, and then they can even switch between plans if they want to. That is the reason everyone wants to compare 529 plans before they actually open an account. So how do you make the comparison? What do you look for?

Well, it is not quite straightforward to compare 529 plans of different states. There are too many things to take care of. However, here are some guidelines that might help you to make the comparison.

1. Look into the tax breaks the plans are offering. In fact, if your own state plan is giving you a tax break, then it is not necessary to look into the plans of other states. Any limitations that exist in your own plan will be overcome by the tax deductions your plans offer. Currently, 31 out of the 50 states in America provide tax deductions on their 529 plans, along with the District of Columbia. These 31 states are: Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

2. Look for the expenses of the plans. The expenses you will have to bear when taking a plan will be the enrollment fees, annual maintenance fees and the program management fees. This is a good parameter to compare 529 plans. Some plans, like that of the state of Wyoming have very high expenses. Even the plans of the stats of Alabama, Arizona, Maine and Tennessee are very expensive and hence not at all good choices.

3. See what kind of investment options the plans will offer you. Most plans will give you at least three investment options, conservative and aggressive. Some of the plans, like that of the state of Virginia, provide as many as 21 American funds, giving a very good choice for investors.

4. There are two kinds of 529 plans - those that can be opened directly and those which require a broker to open. The broker, or the state adviser, will help in opening the plan and also give tips and pointers on making investments. But it must be understood that broker plans are more expensive than the plans that can be opened directly.

What Is “The Secret” To Finding Real Wealth?

Did you know that less than one percent of the people currently living on this planet account for almost twenty-five percent of ALL the wealth? These powerful people certainly don’t want you to know this...they want you to stay as mindless drones whose sole objective is to keep THEM wealthy. What is the secret this small fraction of the population knows that the rest do not?

If you haven't seen the movie "The Secret", I implore you to watch it! The Secret is the most powerful law in the universe! If you have already seen it, watch it again. To watch "The Secret" online, copy and paste this url into your browser; http://www.thesecret.tv/home.html

Or you can watch "The Secret" On Demand via cable and satellite for audiences in the United States and Canada.

This small minority of people who are currently pulling the strings on world politics and world economics have mastered The Secret. These are the same people who want The Secret banned like it was once banned hundreds of years ago. Now The Secret has been un-earthed for all to discover its tremendous power once again!

There also have been great leaders who have mastered The Secret and made positive contributions to all of humanity. Leaders like Albert Einstein, Abe Lincoln, and Mother Teresa to name a few.

We are now living in an exciting new age of technology where humanity can do incredible things. The brick and mortar corporations who once ruled our economy unequivocally over the little guy are slowly losing their death grip due to the astonishing power of the internet!

So what is this secret you ask? In a sentence; "The Secret Is The Law Of Attraction". Simply stated, you get what you wish for...or your thoughts dictate what you get in life. Your health is dictated by your thoughts as well as your wealth.

Think of your thoughts as little tiny magnets...the intensity of these tiny magnets or thoughts are in direct proportion to the emotions you attach to it. The stronger the magnet, the stronger the attraction. This explains why a lot of people don't get what they wish for. They have not attached a strong enough emotion to their dream. Or they feel they don’t deserve their dream so they don’t bother pursuing it.

Let me give you an example of how the law of attraction works in a negative way. Think of the days when you got started off the wrong foot, then said to yourself "this is gonna be a long and terrible day". What happened? A long and terrible day...you got what you wished for! The degree of how terrible your day turned out was proportional to the intensity of the negative emotion you attached to the thought, right?

So how do these little "magnets" or thoughts attract what we want or don't want in our lives you ask? Well, and this is based on quantum physics that scientists have just learned in the last 10 or 15 years. There is an invisible universal mind if you will that contains all the dreams and thoughts of everyone who has ever lived or will live...past...present...future. This is quite the paradox you may think, how can this be?

The "time" element in this universal mind has been negated or altered. Quantum physics has recently shown us that a single electron can occupy two different spaces in an electro-magnetic field at the same exact point in time, once thought impossible. This goes against the laws of physics unless time has been negated or altered some how, the only possible explanation. So you may be able to connect with the dreams of someone who hasn't been born yet. Are you getting excited yet?

The Universal Mind is a sort of collective consciousness. The place where dreams are born. These dreams are invisible and waiting to take physical form.

How do you convert your dreams from the universal mind to the physical realm? By constantly thinking about your dreams with strong emotions and just as importantly - taking action! I am NOT talking about wishful thinking here...you must take action on your dreams!

It helps to have pictures of your dreams and look at them every day. Write your dreams down. Formulate a plan that is specific and with deadlines that will bring your dreams to fruition...and stay the course! “Don’t die with your dreams still inside you” as Dr. Wayne Dyer likes to say.

That is why I firmly believe you should pursue ventures you have a passion for...then you will find it easier to attach strong positive emotions to your thoughts and dreams.

This is the most powerful law in the universe, use it wisely my liege...

Miniature Painting - Art Through the Ages

Early Beginnings

Miniature painting is a traditional style of art that is very detailed, often referred to as painting or working “in miniature”. Because of their origins as illuminations, they are also painted to have as smooth of a surface as possible. (It is also suggested that miniature art may have been influenced by the medals of ancient Rome as well) Miniature art can be traced back to ancient Egyptian manuscripts on papyrus scrolls. Monks are also often highlighted for their contributions to early miniature painting with their beautifully illuminated manuscripts such as the Celtic Book of Kells and England's Lindisfarne Gospels (both of which measure around 9" x 12"). Some early manuscripts contain miniature paintings on their pages that depict beautiful arrangements of life sized flower arrangements on their borders. The history of miniature painting is also seen throughout the world in various other cultures.

Miniature painting began out of necessity for illustrating documents and manuscripts to aid those reading them during a time when many were not able to, before printing was invented. The miniature helped to convey the story and meaning of the written word. Therefore, the art of miniature painting is directly connected to the book arts. The various sized illuminations (pictures) were cut out of these books or documents so that they could be carried more easily. Later, developing from the carried miniature, portrait miniature artists were commissioned to paint small portraits – paintings that were used as we use wallet sized photographs today. These sizes of miniature paintings became popular with collectors and are often referred to as “hand held miniatures”. Portrait miniatures were painted in larger sizes as well, for example master miniaturist, Nicholas Hilliard, Peter Oliver, and Sir Charles William Ross all painted works that were of a larger size.

Sizes

Miniature painting is sometimes confused and assumed that the pieces must be small or depict subjects on a smaller scale to be considered miniature art, though this is not the case. It is helpful to keep in mind that the origins of the term "miniature" have nothing to do with a size. The word miniature comes from the terms 'minium' (used for the red lead paint used in illuminated manuscripts) and 'miniare' (Latin for 'to color with red lead').

Miniature painting is a style and technique of painting, and as such, a wall sized work could be painted “in miniature”. Authors of the Yale University Press publication, “The English Miniature” have stated that miniatures have been painted large and some works are even considered to be gigantic. Numerous faculty members of the Victoria & Albert Museum in London confirm that miniature paintings are not restricted to smallness. Larger sized miniature paintings are documented throughout history and are recognized today, though painting larger works in miniature is more difficult and time consuming than a smaller piece if the same attention to detail is observed. Miniature art is also unique in that it was and is often used on objects, such as the Russian lacquer boxes that are beautiful examples of Russian miniature painting.

Exhibitions

Today, there are miniature art societies in western society to help promote and preserve traditional miniature art and the “spirit of miniature”. Their exhibitions feature the hand held miniature paintings (or sculptures) and each exhibition has its own unique guidelines and rules for artists showing in their exhibit. Some of these rules limit the size of work to be no larger than a set square inch. Others limit the size of a subject, such at the 1/6th scale rule that a subject may not be painted larger than 1/6th of it's natural size, or the 2” rule, that an object in the painting may not exceed 2”. Scale rules were initially put in place as a guide for artists starting out in miniature art. There are also many framing restrictions for society miniature works as well. All of these rules are put into place by each show for their own individual and unique exhibitions, and do not define what miniature art is.

Artists painting miniatures throughout history were not restricted in their artwork by scale as their subjects were painted to any measurement or scale that the artist deemed pleasing to the eye and their patrons, for both manuscripts and other miniatures. Subjects that are naturally small in size, such as butterflies and insects, were painted life sized. Thus the 1/6th scale rule that is used by some shows and societies today unfortunately causes a bit of confusion to those new to the art form who commonly assume that is it a part of a mechanical criteria of the miniature's definition. The world's experts in miniatures do not recognize the rule as legitimate, and view those embracing it as unknowledgeable, and dismiss them.

The term "miniature", as it addresses miniature painting, is often confused with "miniaturize" and some miniature art exhibitions do not refer to miniature as it's initial meaning of techniques, but rather the size of the painting (miniaturized painting). They are two very separate descriptions.

Miniature painting is an art form that is very rich in history that continues today by artists from around the globe. The beautiful ornamental qualities of the miniature should be preserved whether it be the intricate large pieces, or intimate hand held works.
